URL redirection allows you to redirect visitors from one site to another. In contrast to redirecting a domain by parking it when the domain is sort of unusable, a URL redirection is possible only if the domain address is hosted, and thus you'll still be able to create 100% functional subdomains and e-mail addresses or even to have content for the domain address in question, even though it will not be accessible directly. If you have a site, for instance, but you want to launch one or many localized websites for different towns or countries, you will be able to work on them without any problem. In case a site visitor opens any one of the new domains, however, they shall be sent to the existing site. This way, you will not miss customers while developing the localized websites.
URL Redirector in Shared Website Hosting
The Hepsia CP, included with our Linux shared website hosting, provides a URL redirection tool that will allow you to forward any domain name or subdomain hosted in your account to any URL - in your account or a third-party one. Setting up a new redirection is quite easy - you need to select a domain/subdomain and then type the URL it has to be redirected to. You may also redirect a specific subfolder only. For instance, if you have your-domain.com and your-domain.com/es, you could forward only the latter. The tool has sophisticated functions for more tech-savvy users also, including the option to pick the redirection type - 301 (permanent redirection) or 302 (temporary redirection), the redirection method - direct or match, and so forth. If you no longer require a redirection, you may disable it with a mouse click from the same section of the Control Panel.
URL Redirector in Semi-dedicated Hosting
If you create a semi-dedicated server account with us and you would like to forward any one of your domain addresses or subdomains, you can use the very useful redirection tool we've added to our custom Hepsia website hosting CP. It shall permit you to redirect the website visitors within seconds, since all you will have to do is choose a domain/subdomain and type in the web address of the other site. The redirection will take effect almost immediately. If you are experienced, you'll be able to modify different options, including the type of the redirection - temporary or permanent, and the method - direct or match. These options can be altered for any active redirection as well, so you will not need to set up a new one if you want to modify something. You may remove a redirection by clicking on the Delete button associated with it.
